Volunteering for Burnley & Pendle Citizens Advice

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Burnley & Pendle Citizens Advice.

We offer a warm welcome to every volunteer.

The Citizens Advice Service is the UK’s largest advice charity. Of the 28,500 people who work for the service, 21,500 of them are volunteers. They take on a range of roles from giving advice to fundraising, administration, campaigning and trusteeship.

People volunteer for many different reasons, but one thing that unites all volunteers is that they find it challenging, rewarding and varied.

Volunteering provides an opportunity to learn new skills and to develop existing ones. For some it’s an opportunity for learning and development and the challenge of taking on something new and for others, a chance to develop IT, communication and people skills. For many the best thing about volunteering is meeting a wide range of like-minded people. Above all, it is an opportunity to make a real difference.

By volunteering for us you will be playing an active part in improving the lives of people living in the Burnley & Pendle areas and influencing the development of national and local policies and services.

We need you!

Seventy five per cent of the people who work for the CAB service are volunteers, and we simply wouldn’t be here for our clients without them.

If you are able to commit to a minimum of half a day’s volunteering a week for at least eight months and are up for a challenge and enjoy helping people; are a good communicator, listener and committed to equal opportunity for all, we would like to hear from you.

In return we offer full, comprehensive ongoing training in a supportive environment and we will cover your expenses.
